2004 Sinskey Vineyards Abraxas

This is one of my new favorite wines. I love its versatility. It goes well with a number of great cheeses and other foods. The wine is dry, creamy and rich. It is balanced and complex. It is made with a blend of 37% Pinot Blanc, 26% Riesling, 19% Pinot Gris and 18% Gerwertztraminer grapes. It has flavors of white nectarines and flowers, apples, spice and citrus. It is made using organic and biodynamic farming methods.

Try it with a nice Patacabra aged goat’s milk cheese. The pairing works well – both the wine and the cheese are balanced with a hint of acidity on the finish. You can find this wine for $34/bottle at Bacchus & Venus wine shop in Sausalito.
